In both the slush and the coffee flavoring applications, most operators use cheap plastic pumps, partly because until now there has been no better alternative. There are a number of good reasons to consider changing to our new BP-¼. First of all, the cheap plastic pumps can't be fully cleaned and are not NSF listed like the BP-¼. Secondly, the cheaper pumps are not very durable and this creates portion control issues as they age. Finally, since the plastic pumps don't last long and can't be cleaned, they need to be replaced often. This makes them an on-going expense rather than an investment. Also, this adds to the solid waste problem and makes your operation less "green". Our mission was to change this.
With the addition of our smallest pump offering to date — our new #88180 Bottle Pump BP-¼ lists for $68.00. These little stainless pumps are set for a ¼-ounce (7-mL) portion and incorporate a unique combination of an internal duck-billed valve and stainless steel ball that do a good job on portion control. They come packed with two different 28 mm caps, which vary in depth. The shorter version works well on most common flavor bottles used in the specialty coffee industry. This pump can be disassembled for cleaning or cleaned in place by following the cleaning instructions included. A similar pump for a ½ ounce (14 mL) portion is model #88190 BP-½ and lists for $69.00.
